House Mouse Christmas Challenge #14

It's MONDAY - time for another FUN HM Challenge. :) This week's theme is to make a ***Christmas*** project of any type. I LOVE cards and its my only talent...so I generally always go with cards. :) Same rules apply of having to use at least one House Mouse & Friends Image.... I went with Maxwell & Monica Jingling bells. The name of this stamp is "Jingle Buds"by Stampabilities House Mouse Designs #HMLR1039.

The main image was stamped twice with StazOn and colored in with chalks and markers. One image is in the background and the second was completely cut out and layered over the other with Dimensional Glue DOTS. The BG DP is actually part of a xmas scrap kit that I purchased at Big Lots in PA over a year ago. It features musical notes of Christmas songs and so I thought it would go well with this cute Jingle image. (though looking back at my card now, it makes it look a little too busy). lol. The card was finished off with edge inking and GOLD brads from CTMH.

I really would LOVE to make my own XMAS cards this year. Then again -I say that every year since I started playing with paper crafts in 2003, but have NEVER done it yet. I dont ever make the same card twice so I just cant see myself designing 100 more Christmas cards now-I'll never finish them on time and it might totally burn me out. It would be wonderful to know how you fellow cardmakers/crafters do it/plan it and go about it? Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed and absolutely appreciated. :)

Thanks so much for looking!!

  2. I LOVE your card America! Very, very cute...you always bring the HM stamps to life. I'm with you on the Christmas card idea, but, I also have a hard time making the same card more than once!! lol Couldn't image making it 100x!! So, I'll be checking back for any good ideas. :)

  3. Those mice are so darling - I love the music paper with it too!!

I just got back into stamping this year, so it's the first Christmas I've thought about it. I have always bought my Christmas cards at the end of the season the previous year when they are on sale, so I have 6 boxes of cards already. I have been making cards for challenges and such, so I have some that I will send out homemade this year, but most will be store-bought. Maybe if I plan ahead for next year... I don't know. It's still a LOT of cards to make. Let me know what you end up doing!

  7. Such a gorgeous card!
To be honest; I either don't send any or I buy them, lol! I always plan to make my own cards, but never start in time! That's why I try to enter challenges now. But I guess I have the same problem you do: I never make the same card twice. Even worse, I can't seem to part with them! lol

  9. I love you card! This is so festive and I don't think it looks at all too busy. Your coloring is great and the image is so cute! Sorry, but I can't help with the making cards idea. I find that I don't do too many duplicates, although you could just do 100 different cards. Then you'd have the fun of deciding who gets which card. :)
