House Mouse On The Beach

Welcome back! I hope that your new year is off to a great start! :)

It's time for the first House Mouse & Friends Challenge of 2010. It's hosted by our own DT Member Mary who wants you to create with the theme ***On The Beach***.

Here is my take;
HM image is stamped then colored in first with Copics & Marvy LePlume Markers. Then I pierced the corners & bottom, then ran it through the CUTTLEBUG bubble embossing folder fo a little texture. The final touches were adding the clear stickles to drink and icecubes (but I cant take the credit for that part-as that was my DH's idea). LOL.

I couldnt think of other beach embellishments; tried punched seashells, tried beach dies, tried adding nautical ropes .... but in the end, settled for MS borders & some sand colored pearls. Image is backed by Bazzill textured dark brown CS and Wallpaper. (I found this huge beach WallPaper roll at a thrift store for a dollar!!!!)It has great texture and cuts like a dream! :)

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps: Stampabilities, House Mouse Designs called "Keeping Cool", from (Jun. 2003) and its featuring *Muzzy*, # HMLR1007. The Sentiment is by Stampa Rosa HMD.
Paper: Bazzill Textured Darl Brown Cs, Cream CS, & Wallpaper
Ink: Brown StazOn, Marvy Matchables, Copics, Marvy LePlume Markers, SU White Signo Gel Pen(for highlights).
Accessories: Spellbinders, Satin Dark Brown Ribbon, MS Border Punch, Basic Grey Pearls, Ranger Stickles

Go check out what the rest of the HM&F DT has come up with to help inspire you at HM&F!
Thanks for Looking & Happy Creating in the new year!

  1. No one makes a card like you America! The detail in your card is eye popping! I love reading how you make your cards because I can see from what you write what an amazing thought process that you have going on while making a card. I too struggled with embellishments (even tried real shells) but couldn't seem to find anything I liked till I did the multiple background. Love your card! Best, Curt

  7. Just gorgeous America. Love your image and superb colouring, think I might just pour myself a 'pink gin' now hee-hee!! Fabulous layout and I know what you mean about embellies, I never end up using much (or many) with HM's I think they speak for themselves.
    Glad your little package arrived OK.
