Thinking of You |
Here is a mostly RED card inspired by this week's QFTD challenge at SCS HERE: It features a stamper friend who is a sweetheart, named Cindy. aka: YLM. I chose a great wreath card from her fab gallery HERE, for the idea and layout.
My main panel was made with tuck doily dies from Marianne Designs and Spellbinders. I centered it with a Pearl Bridal Brad (found at Michale's), Small/Lg Satin ribbon and lace (from Spain).
Stamps: SU - Circle of Friendship. Martha Stewart Doilies Stamps |
Paper: Colorbok, Wild Rose Premium DP, Red Metallic, Cream CS, Red CS |
Ink: SU Reds, Marvy Matchables Reds |
Accessories: Marianne Designs Dies, Spellbinders Dies, MS Border Punch, Circle Punches, Ribbons, Lace, Adhesive Pearls, Bridal Pearl Brad |
Techniques: Sponging |
NEXT UP is a Special Sympathy Card. Unfortunately, we needed it for a Friend/Spouse/Mom of beautiful toddler twins (that my teen Daughter helped watch this past year). Sadly, this Mom just lost her husband, a WestPoint Soldier/Officer that was recently killed in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber. A beautiful family forever changed because of this senseless War in which we still have our Soldiers in harms way. As an active duty Military Wife myself, this was especially sad. Please join me and help pray for them during this difficult time. For more information on our fallen warrior, and the touching story, a website has been established in support of Major Kennedy's family HERE.
At times like this, its hard to find inspiration to craft. thats when I turn to SCS, splitcoaststampers.com. If you arent familiar with SCS, you may want to check it out. This EK punched border reminded me of the necklace knot (see pic below), while the rope like chain reminded me of a corrugated texture like that of the panels shown here. The Background behind the main panel is actually cut out of a designer file folder (found at TJMaxx). Love that lovely Collage look it gives. It was perfect for the card I had in mind. I corrugated the BG Panels for texture and finished off the card with touches of Gold Ranger Stickles on the Cross and panels. Stamps: Anna Griffin (interior verse) |
Paper: Designer file folders, golden corrugated CS, Bazzill Brown CS, Cream Textured CS |
Ink: Brilliance Archival Pigment Ink - Coffee Bean color (for sponging panels) |
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels and Crosses dies, Large EK Border Punch, Paper Corrugator, Adhesive Pearls and Pearl Flourishes, Gold Ranger Stickles |
Techniques: Sponging, Corrugating |
I found inspiration for this one with last week's SCS's IC Challenge, #IC350 found HERE: The shop featured had many gorgeous pieces, like this MADELAINE necklace:
