Elegant Twist Ovals and Creating your own Backgrounds

As a member of the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team, I receive free product for use in my projects.

CARD RECIPE and HOW-TO
I created my own colorful embossed background by using the Grid from the new APG June 2020 Die of the Month - A2 Snip It Grid and Calendar Creator
Amazing Paper Grace June 2020 Die of the Month - A2 Snip-It Grid and Calendar Creator - learn about this die at wwwamazingpapergracecomp36113
By taking the grid from the set, and running it through my die-cut machine, I embossed with this grid twice using my machine's embossing sandwich. This gave me a continuation of the grid design.  Next i ran several color of pigment ink across the top that compliment the pattern paper. After the ink had dried, (about 20 mts or so), I brush entire panel with iridescent varnish for fabulous shimmer.

The center window was die cut twice. Once for the back and once for the grid panel to layer over it in the same position as the window image. It is adhered and gives this a really cool window-like effect.

Borders and Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates from the Elegant Twist Collection by Becca Feeken
I've hot foiled this sentiment on white cardstock then placed this sentiment strip on heavyweight vellum and over the ribbon. The ribbon goes across the top panel. The bow is hot glued in place. Mini silver flat-back gems finish off the look.

I love using Dies in many different ways to stretch my supplies further. What do you think? Do you enjoy making your own backgrounds? Would love to hear what you do. Please me know in the comments below.
